New court filings disclose Sam Bankman-Fried’s bankruptcy story.

The U.S. government sentencing brief includes a Google document that exposes Sam Bankman-Fried’s “random probably bad ideas” to improve his public image.
Sam “SBF” Bankman-Fried’s intentions to repair his reputation following the 2022 collapse of FTX are disclosed in newly filed court filings by US prosecutors.

Bankman-Fried enumerated 19 “random probably bad ideas” in an attempt to alter the social media narrative surrounding the cryptocurrency exchange’s precipitous collapse, according to a Google document that was submitted to the government sentencing memorandum filed on March 15.

“Go on Tucker Carlsen, come out as a republican,” “go on and criticize lawyers,” “leak documents to the press,” and “promote a strong anti-Binance message” were among the initiatives that were suggested.

The document is a component of the government’s case for the former FTX CEO, who was found guilty of fraud and money laundering last November, to get a sentence ranging from 40 to 50 years. The Google document shows a “significant likelihood” that Bankman-Fried would perpetrate another fraud if released back into society at a young age, according to the sentencing memorandum.

That is more than simply conjecture. He considered starting “Archangel LTD,” which would be an alternative to FTX’s bankruptcy and lead to the relaunch of an exchange, in the days that followed FTX’s bankruptcy and even after the defendant had been charged.
The recommended sentence is notably less than the 110-year maximum term that may be imposed on him under U.S. sentencing standards.

A jury trial held almost a year after FTX’s demise found the former executive guilty of every one of the seven allegations the US government had leveled against him. Innocent, Bankman-Fried entered a plea. The plans to fully repay creditors based on the value of crypto assets at the time of bankruptcy were recently revealed by FTX’s new management.
